Lets tell you our philosophy on AI and its use for the Future

At Free State Drum Co., we know there is a lot of unease around artificial intelligence and where it is taking us. We feel it too. But we are not interested in pretending the technology does not exist, and we are not interested in hiding how we use it either.

So here is where we stand. AI is a tool. Like every other tool in our shop, it is only worth something in the hands of a person, with morality, who knows what they are doing. We have used it for mockups, for working through complicated calculations, and for building parts of this website, including the page you are reading right now. That is the extent of it.

But a tool has no conscience. It cannot tell you whether something is fair, or honest, or worth making at all. It has no stake in the outcome and nothing to lose when it gets things wrong. Every one of those judgments belongs to the person using it, and that person has to be willing to put their name on the result. That is the part that cannot be handed off, and we have no interest in trying.

It does not design your drum, it does not build your drum, and it does not speak for us. Every instrument that leaves this shop is built and painted by real hands, and the people behind Free State are real people you can talk to. AI will never run this company, and it will never stand in for a human being here.
